There are many different opinions on how the kraken appears and how it acts. One definition is "a legendary sea monster causing large whirlpools off the coast of Norway" (Dictionary.com). Other sources say that the kraken would bring down ships by wrapping its tentacles around the vessel if the whirlpool didn't take care of it first (Krystek.) Some stories claim that the beasts' area reaches of up to 1 1/2 miles. Although there are different stories and theories behind this beast, all of them come to the same result; death.
